The article was appeared in 《European Polymer Journal》. They have made some progress in their research.Synthetic Route of C31H20O8 The article mentions the following:

In the paper, we demonstrate a series of azobenzene polyimides with azomoieties located in the main chain for potential applications as membranes for controlled gas separation Since azobenzene derivatives can exist in two forms, i.e., thermodynamically stable trans and photoinduced cis, both isomers can be utilized for membrane preparation The long term stability of the cis form is a precondition for such an application. Thus, the effect of polymer structure on the stability of cis-trans isomerization process in polymer films was investigated. The prepared azopolymers exhibited high stability of cis isomers and the return cis-trans reaction was not completed during 7 days after switching off the excitation light (405 nm). The stability of the cis-trans isomerization was discussed in the context of the fragility parameter. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time when the main chain azopolymer was tested as a membrane for the gas separation Two types of azomembranes, i.e., bearing azobenzene derivatives as trans, and cis isomers and a reference membrane without azochromophore were prepared Our investigations showed that the presence of trans-azomoieties increases the permeability of the gases (N2, O2, He and CO2) in comparison to the reference polyimide and that the permeability increase is not accompanied by any losses of the selectivity.5,5′-((Propane-2,2-diylbis(4,1-phenylene))bis(oxy))bis(isobenzofuran-1,3-dione) (cas: 38103-06-9) were involved in the experimental procedure.

Cao, Ke;Serrano, Joel M.;Liu, Tianyu;Stovall, Benjamin J.;Xu, Zhen;Arrington, Clay B.;Long, Timothy E.;Odle, Roy R.;Liu, Guoliang published 《Impact of metal cations on the thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties of telechelic sulfonated polyetherimides》. The research results were published in《Polymer Chemistry》 in 2020.Electric Literature of C31H20O8 The article conveys some information:

Herein we have synthesized telechelic sulfonated polyetherimides (PEIs) with a series of metal cations, including alkali metal cations (Li+, Na+, and K+) and alk. earth metal cations (Mg2+, Ca2+, and Sr2+). By comparing the metal sulfonated PEIs with a noncharged analog phenyl-terminated PEI, we have systematically investigated how the metal cations affect the thermal, mech., and rheol. properties of PEIs. PEIs with alk. earth metal cations showed higher thermal degradation temperatures than those with alkali metal cations. All sulfonated PEIs showed lower thermal degradation temperatures than noncharged PEIs. All metal cations except K+ and Sr2+ increased the glass transition temperatures of sulfonated PEIs. Most metal (except K and Sr) sulfonated PEIs possessed good film formability when the mol. weight was above 10 kDa. Due to their large cation sizes, the K and Sr sulfonated PEIs exhibited reduced glass transition temperatures and inferior film formability. Alkali metal sulfonated PEIs showed high thermo-oxidative stability, but none of the alk. earth metal sulfonated PEIs exhibited good thermo-oxidative stability. The rheol. time-temperature superposition revealed that the interaction strength between the sulfonate anions and the alkali metal cations decreased as the cation size increased in the sequence of Li+, Na+, and K+. This study provides a guideline for synthesizing metal sulfonated PEIs and other metal sulfonated polymers with tailored thermal, mech., and rheol. properties. Liu, Xing;Zhou, Jianjun;Zhou, Yubin;Wu, Minghong;Zhu, Yaming;Zhao, Jianqing;Liu, Shumei;Xiao, Han published 《Chemically crosslinked polyimide-POSS hybrid: A dielectric material with improved dimensional stability and dielectric properties》 in 2022. The article was appeared in 《European Polymer Journal》. They have made some progress in their research.Recommanded Product: 38103-06-9 The article mentions the following:

One kind of the leading polymers applied in microelectronic packaging is polyimide (PI)-tethered polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) hybrids. However, a well-known problem is that PI-POSS hybrids usually suffer from the serious thermal expansion at elevated temperature, leading to deteriorated reliability in electronic devices. In this work, a series of PI-POSS hybrids is successfully fabricated using aminopropylisobutyl-POSS as a reactive filler, and then the phenolic hydroxyl groups on side chains of hybrids react with terephthaloyl chloride at room temperature to form a crosslinked network. The well-designed crosslinked network suppresses the thermal expansion and improves the dielec. properties of hybrids together with POSS. As an example, after 24 h of crosslinking reaction, the coefficient of thermal expansion of the crosslinked hybrid with 14.6 wt% POSS (CPIH-2-24H) is 24 ppm/K, revealing a 59% reduction against the unmodified PI (82 ppm/K). Meanwhile, the dielec. constant and loss of CPIH-2-24H are decreased by ∼27% (2.68 vs. 3.68) and ∼72% (0.007 vs. 0.025), resp., compared with the corresponding values for the unmodified PI. These data indicate that the resultant crosslinked PI-POSS hybrids may be used as microelectronic packaging materials, and the work provides a feasible approach to restrict the thermal expansion of PI-POSS hybrids by room-temperature chem. crosslinking. The article contains the following contents:

Demands of increased energy d. and high-safety of lithium-ion and lithium metal batteries are growing for advanced electronics, elec. vehicles and energy storage systems. Nickel-rich layered oxides such as LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NCM811) are appealing as promising high-capacity cathode materials. Their reversible capacity increases further by charging to higher voltages than conventional 4.2 V, which is however difficult to make because of unstable cathode-electrolyte interface and structural degradation Herein, we report the combination of NCM811 cathode active material with non-aqueous functional polyimide binder to imparts enhanced thermal stability and highly stable interface originating from in situ building-up of surface protective polyimide layer at cathode through monodentate metal-carboxylate chem. bonds during slurry preparation, which permits to charge to 4.4 V despite in com. electrolyte without any additive. This unique active material-binder combination not only suppresses metal-dissolution and cathode degradation and produces increased reversible capacity higher than 200 mAh g-1 but also provides unprecedented non-flammable characteristics contrary to the case of conventional binder, enabling a stable operation of higher energy and safer batteries. They have made some progress in their research.Name: 5,5′-((Propane-2,2-diylbis(4,1-phenylene))bis(oxy))bis(isobenzofuran-1,3-dione) The article mentions the following:

New crosslinked polyamides were successfully produced from the condensation of pre-synthesized monomer, 5-(2,2,2-trifluoroacetamido)isophthaloylchloride (TFAIAC) and diamines at low temperature These polyamides were used as promising metal-chelating adsorbents due to the presence of O and N donor sites on the crosslinked polyamides. For this purpose, trifluoroacetic anhydride was used to protect the amino group of 5-aminoisophthalic acid, thus generating 5-(2,2,2-trifluoroacetamido)isophthalic acid (TFAIA). TFAIA was converted into TFAIAC using oxalyl chloride, which was exploited as a suitable monomer for the synthesis of aromatic polyamides. Amino groups were then set free under basic conditions and the crosslinking was carried out through amino groups present on the polyamide chains with different dianhydrides, isophthaloyl chloride and 2,5-thiophenedicarboxaldehyde. The synthesis of monomers and polymers was confirmed by FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and molar masses were measured by gel permeation chromatog. The crosslinked macromols. were found to possess enough chain alignment as depicted by their XRD patterns. The thermal stability of the crosslinked polyamides was increased as their decomposition temperatures were improved from 420 to 619 °C. Metal ion uptake was scrutinized through at. absorption spectroscopy with 83%-85% adsorption capacity at optimized parameters. The mechanism of adsorption was further investigated through the Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms. Computed Properties of C31H20O8《Electrochemically active polyimides containing hydroxyl-functionalized triphenylmethane as molecular sensors for fluoride anion detection》 was published in 2020. The authors were Chiriac, Adriana-Petronela;Butnaru, Irina;Damaceanu, Mariana-Dana, and the article was included in《Electrochimica Acta》. The author mentioned the following in the article:

In the challenging pursuit of endowing the high performance polyimide systems with efficient responsive side chains, the authors have designed and synthesized four mol. sensors containing OH group grafted on triphenylmethane (TPM) core as receptor for the fluoride anion. The sensing platforms were obtained by solution polycondensation reaction of a new TPM-based diamine bearing the OH receptor with four ether-dianhydrides containing different substituents, such as 9,9-diphenyl-fluorene, cyclohexane, isopropylidene or hexafluoroisopropylidene. These structural elements are meant to increase the flexibility of the polyimide backbones, as well as solubility and processing ability from easy accessible solvents, while preserving a high thermal stability. Since TPM-OH based polyimides were not studied yet with regard to their photooptical and electrochem. features, the authors have performed a systematic study which highlighted a complex behavior in strong dependence on the surrounding environment. The UV-visible absorption and fluorescence spectra evidenced the occurrence of solute-solvent interactions which are responsible for unusual pink color of these polyimides. Meanwhile, intermol. H bonding evolved in solid state. These features promoted a redox behavior contingent on the polyimides ability to generate the keto tautomer. For the 1st time in the case of polyimides, spectroscopic and electrochem. responses to fluoride anion were thoroughly analyzed by fluorescence and cyclic voltammetry, besides the already known UV-visible and 1H NMR spectroscopies. Clear changes occurred in the presence of the fluoride anion (with tetrabuthylammonium as the counterion), allowing the authors to discriminate it by other anions. The sensing recognition capability was demonstrated by color change from pink to yellow, fluorescence enhancement and variation from blue to yellowish-green, disappearance of the OH proton signature and easier oxidation in the presence of fluoride anions. Since the acid CH group of TPM core is indirectly entangled in the sensing mechanism of the fluoride anion, different concurrent recognition principles may be considered. Even complex, the sensing behavior of the understudy polyimides proved that a single OH group/monomeric TPM unit is appropriate for efficient fluoride anion recognition.5,5′-((Propane-2,2-diylbis(4,1-phenylene))bis(oxy))bis(isobenzofuran-1,3-dione) (cas: 38103-06-9) were involved in the experimental procedure.

A layer of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) was coated on the surface of copper calcium titanate (CCTO) by hydrothermal method that could fabricate CCTO@Al2O3. The composite films of polyimide (PI)/CCTO@Al2O3 were prepared by in-situ polymerization The composite films were characterized by Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, laser particle size analyzer, scanning electron microscope, and their mech. properties, dielec. properties, and thermal stability were tested. The effects of CCTO@Al2O3 content on the structures and properties of films were studied and the difference between PI/CCTO@Al2O3 and PI/CCTO films were researched. The results showed that CCTO@Al2O3 dispersed evenly in PI matrix. When the content of CCTO@Al2O3 was 10%, the dielec. constant could increase obviously to 6.95. Compared with PI/CCTO films with the same content of CCTO, the dielec. constant of PI/CCTO@Al2O3 composite films increased, the dielec. loss decreased, and the mech. properties and thermal stability were improved.
