A layer of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) was coated on the surface of copper calcium titanate (CCTO) by hydrothermal method that could fabricate CCTO@Al2O3. The composite films of polyimide (PI)/CCTO@Al2O3 were prepared by in-situ polymerization The composite films were characterized by Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, laser particle size analyzer, scanning electron microscope, and their mech. properties, dielec. properties, and thermal stability were tested. The effects of CCTO@Al2O3 content on the structures and properties of films were studied and the difference between PI/CCTO@Al2O3 and PI/CCTO films were researched. The results showed that CCTO@Al2O3 dispersed evenly in PI matrix. When the content of CCTO@Al2O3 was 10%, the dielec. constant could increase obviously to 6.95. Compared with PI/CCTO films with the same content of CCTO, the dielec. constant of PI/CCTO@Al2O3 composite films increased, the dielec. loss decreased, and the mech. properties and thermal stability were improved.
