General procedure: In a 50mL round-bottom flask containing 5mL acetone,anhydrous K2CO3 (0.5mmol), compound 2 (0.5mmol) andsubstituted phenol or benzenethiol (0.5mmol) were addedand reacted at room temperature under N2. When the reactionwas complete (TLC control), the organic solvent wasremoved, followed by addition of water (20mL). The solutionwas extracted with ethyl acetate (EtOAc) (3¡Á30mL).Finally, the resulting organic phases was washed withbrine, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and evaporated underreduced pressure.
