Competition between the 2 antirheumatic drugs and I is discussed at both the plasma protein and the cardiac tissue levels. Thus, drug interactions and the subsequent decreased clinical effectiveness of I occur when I is prescribed in combination with phenylbutazone or sodium salicylate.
