1552-42-7, Name is Crystal violet lactone, belongs to benzofurans compound, is a common compound. HPLC of Formula: C26H29N3O2In an article, once mentioned the new application about 1552-42-7.

We have investigated the Hg2+ transport from Crystal Violet Lactone to Fluoran dye based on the association constant, Kass. Upon addition of Hg2+, the Crystal Violet Lactone shows a new peak at around 603 nm, and the color of the solution changed from colorless to blue. With the addition of Fluoran dye in this solution containing Crystal Violet Lactone and Hg2+, the absorption intensity of Fluoran dye at 447 nm and 586 nm was all increased. So the color of solution gradually became black from blue color. From the changes of the ratio A586/A447, it is apparent that the Hg2+ in Crystal Violet Lactone-Hg 2+ was transported to colored Fluoran. The Hg2+ transport from Crystal Violet Lactone to Fluoran dye was also carried out by the calculation of the association constant: the binding ability for the complex formation of Fluoran dye and Crystal Violet Lactone-Hg2+ is much greater in CH3CN solution (Kass = 3.0 × 10 4 M-1) than that of the Crystal Violet Lactone with Hg2+ (Kass = 1.2 × 103 M-1).

Food safety is a major factor affecting public health and the well-being of society. A possible solution to control food-borne illnesses is through real-time monitoring of the food quality throughout the food supply chain. The development of emerging technologies, such as active and intelligent packaging, has been greatly accelerated in recent years, with a focus on informing consumers about food quality. Advances in the fields of sensors and biosensors has enabled the development of new materials, devices, and multifunctional sensing systems to monitor the quality of food. In this Review, we place the focus on an in-depth summary of the recent technological advances that hold the potential for being incorporated into food packaging to ensure food quality, safety, or monitoring of spoilage. These advanced sensing systems usually target monitoring gas production, humidity, temperature, and microorganisms’ growth within packaged food. The implementation of portable and simple-to-use hand-held devices is also discussed in this Review. We highlight the mechanical and optical properties of current materials and systems, along with various limitations associated with each device. The technologies discussed here hold great potential for applications in food packaging and bring us one step closer to enable real-time monitoring of food throughout the supply chain.

Electric Literature of 1552-42-7, Chemistry is the science of change. But why do chemical reactions take place? Why do chemicals react with each other? The answer is in thermodynamics and kinetics. In a document type is Article, and a compound is mentioned, 1552-42-7, Crystal violet lactone, introducing its new discovery.

Singlet oxygen was shown to be involved in the mechanism of fading on a clay surface of a series of the triphenylmethane (TPM) dyes used in commercial carbonless copying paper. The dyes adsorbed on clays were found to be singlet oxygen sensitisers and the singlet oxygen produced reacted with the dyes themselves. The rate of fading of a particular dye depended upon the structure of the dyes, fluorans degrading faster than phthalides.

The aim of this work is to investigate the luminescence color changes of thermosensitive luminous fibers (TLFs). These TLFs are comprised of rare-earth luminescent materials as the luminescence sources, reversible thermochromic crystal violet lactone (CVL) pigment as the luminescence conversion agent, and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) as the matrix. It was found that the TFLs could not only change their color, but also convert the luminescence upon temperature change based on a structural transformation of the CVL pigment. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements indicated that rare-earth luminescent materials maintained their basic crystal structure and the CVL pigment was not destroyed by the process of spinning. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of TLFs at the microcosmic angle showed that the CVL pigments were evenly distributed in the PAN matrix and formed a luminescence filter on the surface of the fiber. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TGA and DTG) results indicate that the TLFs possess satisfactory thermostability below 212.6 C. The color and luminescence of the TLFs were accurately exhibited on the CIE 1931 chromaticity coordinates. The thermosensitive capability of TLFs was qualitatively verified by observing them in water at 40 C and it was found that the fibers had brilliant luminescence and vivid thermosensitivity.

Knowledge of the order of the effective nonlinear absorption in multiphoton photoresists is a key element in the development of improved materials for multiphoton absorption polymerization (MAP). The direct measurement of this nonlinearity has proven challenging. A new technique called 2-beam initiation threshold (2-BIT) is presented that allows for the unambiguous, in situ measurement of the order of the effective nonlinear absorption using a simple optical arrangement that can be employed with virtually any MAP setup. This technique is benchmarked using three common commercial photoinitiators that have been used previously in MAP and one common dye that acts as a photoinitiator. The linear absorption spectrum is demonstrated to be a poor predictor of the effective order of nonlinear absorption at a given wavelength. Surprisingly, for two of these initiators the effective nonlinear absorption process is dominated by 3-photon absorption in the 800 nm wavelength range, suggesting that 2-BIT is a valuable means of identifying initiators that can improve the resolution of MAP. (Figure presented.).

The measurement of the order and magnitude of absorptive nonlinearities is essential to the development and improvement of a wide range of optical materials. This review presents and contrasts some of the most commonly used methods for making such measurements. As background, we introduce the history of, and the essential physics behind, multiphoton absorption (MPA) and phenomena that can interfere with its measurement. We review methods for the direct and indirect measurement of MPA. The direct methods covered include nonlinear transmission, absorption modulation, Z-scan, and spectrally-resolved, two-beam coupling. The indirect methods reviewed, all of which rely on the measurement of multiphoton action cross sections, include nonlinear fluorescence excitation, thermal lensing, MPA-induced photocurrent, and various techniques for determining the order of effective nonlinear absorption in multiphoton absorption polymerization.

Thermochromic films with intriguing functionalities have great potential in soft actuators, heat storage devices, and interactive interface sensors. Inspired by the unique features of bird feathers (such as Nicobar pigeon, Anna hummingbird, mandarin duck, etc.), a superhydrophobic thermochromic film (STF) with robust healability is proposed for the first time through sandwiching an electric heater between a top thermochromic layer and a bottom poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) substrate. The STF exhibits fast and reversible color conversions of blue-pink-yellow under a low input power and has a superhydrophobic property with a contact angle of 155. Furthermore, owing to the strong dynamic dipole-dipole interactions between the polar CF3 groups of flexible PVDF-HFP chains, the STF possesses a robust healing capability of structure and conductivity. By means of the temperature difference generated by the objects contacting (finger, iron, and water) as a stimulus, the STFs achieve tactile imaging and writing record with advantages of transient display, automatic erasure, and excellent reusability. Additionally, the STF-based anti-counterfeiting security labels with superhydrophobicity and three-state color switching simultaneously realize facile distinguishment and difficult forgery. The findings conceivably stand out as a new methodology to fabricate functional thermochromic materials for innovative applications.
