Taiheiiyo coal was flash pyrolyzed at 600° and 800° in a down-flow type reactor, and the fractions of ≤360° of the coal tar were analyzed by gas chromatog./mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The coal tar fractions from 600° pyrolysis contained 453 compounds, e.g. aliphatic hydrocarbons, alkylbenzenes, Tetralin derivatives, alkylnaphthalenes, etc. The coal tar fractions from 800° pyrolysis contained 249 compounds, e.g. phenols, naphthalenes, anthracene, etc. In the experiment, the researchers used many compounds, for example, Naphtho[2,1-b]benzofuran (cas: 205-39-0Application of 205-39-0).
