The chem. constituents from aerial part of Rumex patientia were studied. The compounds were isolated and purified by silica gels and polyamide column chromatog. Their structures were elucidated by physicochem. and spectroscopic evidences. Twelve compounds were identified as: chrysophanol (1), chrysophanol-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), physcion (3), emodin (4), emodin-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), maackiain (6), maackiain-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7), quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (8), quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucuronide(9), 2-O-methylinositol(10), torachrysone-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(11) and nepodin-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (12).
